Cathy Gray, 44, of Clarksville died Friday, Feb. 1, 2002, at her home.
She was a native of Hawthorne, Calif., Baptist, employee of Sara Lee
Hosiery, and granddaughter of the late Rosie and Dena Middleton.
Survivors include one son, Zachary Ham and his father, Robert Ham of
Clarksville; parents, Inez Middleton Black of Clarksville and Paul Black
Sr. of London; and two brothers, Paul Black Jr. of St. Louis, Mo., and
John David Black of Venice, Calif.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel
with Rev. Vernon Long officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jack Sanderson, Terry Sanderson, Dolan Sanderson, Rob Schreckhise, Larry Farris, and Gregory Cagle.
Corabelle Thomas, 78, of Clarksville died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2002, at
her home.
A native of Vera, Texas, she was a daughter of the late Willis Emmett
and Edna Blackburn Peddy, business woman, and a member of the Dardanelle
Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Wanda Merle
Shipman and Nelle Murphree; and two brothers, Orvil and Aubrey Peddy.
Survivors include her husband, Virgil Thomas; three sons and two daughters-in-law,
Emmett and Lewis Ann Thomas, Aubrey and Patricia Thomas and Lynn Keith
Thomas, all of Clarksville; three brothers, Emmett Peddy Jr. of Texas,
Douglas (Son) Peddy of Midland, Texas, and Jack Peddy of Lubbock, Texas;
one sister, Patsy Hawkins of Oklahoma City, Okla.; five grandchildren;
and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, at Cornwell Funeral Home
Chapel in Dardanelle with Johnny Paul Thaxton officiating. Burial will
be in Brearley Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Neil Thomas, Chuck Thomas, Steven Thomas, Marty Thomas, Tommy Riddell, and Floyd Pledger.
Dale Ashlock, 78, of Lakewood, Wash., died Dec. 15, 2001.
He was a native of Walnut and former resident of Clarksville. After
serving in World War II with the 250th Field Artillery Battalion attached
to the French Army, he moved to Tacoma, Wash., and retired from the St.
Regis Paper Company.
He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, James and Deirdra Ashlock;
three daughters and one son-in-law, Kathleen Ryan, Mary Ashlock, and Monica
and Craig Roberts; grandchildren, Stephanie and David; great-grandson,
Ryan; one brother, Dorvan Ashlock of Fort Smith; and three sisters, Iladeen
Russell of Tacoma, Wash., Barbara Smith of Hunt, and Carolyn Wadley of
Knoxville.
A reception was held Jan. 12 at the Mountain View Celebration of Life
Center.
Internment was at the Tahoma National Cemetery.
Estelle B. Stutts, 87, of Clarksville died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2002,
at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a native of the Woodland Community, daughter of the late William
Perry and Nancy A. Self Houston, and widow of James Boyce Stutts.
She is survived by two daughters, Mozelle Beckham of Russellville and
Maydelle White of Clarksville; two sons, Philip Rex Neal of Canyon Lake,
Texas, and Perry Houston Neal of Cave Creek, Ariz.; three sisters, Mae
Storts of Tahlequah, Okla., Leoma Atkins of Clarksville, and Paulina Goble
of San Diego, Calif.; ten grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Bill Houston officiating.
Helen Marie Bonson, 76, of Knoxville died Friday, Feb. 1, 2002, at Dardanelle
Nursing Center.
She was a daughter of the late Billy J. and Maggie M. Matthews Sanders,
widow of Raymond L. Bonson, and a Baptist.
Survivors are two daughters, Patricia Hirsch of Boling Brook, Ill.,
and Sandra Beam of Russellville; two sisters, Dolly Jackson of Oklahoma
and Martha Varnell of Subiaco; one brother, James Sanders of Oklahoma;
seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev.
Amos Pledger officiating. Burial was in Knoxville Cemetery.

Glen Chavers, Curtis James Varnell and Kenneth Ezell.

Joy Gayle Baskin Bean, 77, of Clarksville died Thursday, Jan. 30, 2002,
at Countryside Manor Nursing Home.
She was a daughter of the late Robert Thurlow and Estelle McMillan Baskin,
widow of Clarence (Junior) Bean, member of Stillwell Bible Baptist Church,
and was preceded in death by one grandson, Brian Keith Bean, and one sister,
Wilma Baskin.
Survivors include two daughters, Dianne Hammond of Harrison and Marcia
Dean of Tulsa, Okla.; four sons, Dennis Bean and Michael Bean, both of
Clarksville, James Bean of Ozone, and Scott Bean of Roland; two sisters,
Beth Newton of Clarksville and Alma Ashlock of Fort Smith; 20 grandchildren;
and 18 great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 1, at Stillwell Bible Baptist Church
with Rev. Jim Goodman officiating.
Burial was in Harmony Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral
Home.

James Leonard Clayborn, 89, of Clarksville died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2002,
at his home.
He was a son of the late William Raleigh and Ora Virginia Casey Clayborn,
a laborer, and was preceded in death by two sisters, Artie Curtis and Effie
Clayborn; and two brothers, Lloyd Clayborn and Wilburn Clayborn.
Survivors are his widow, Ruby D. Smith Clayborn; five daughters, Geneva
Carlton of Fayetteville, Donnie Helen Bradley and Bonnie Knick, both of
Clarksville, Ora Lou Aichele of Charleston, S. C., and Connie Bernier of
Rudy; four sons, Jimmy Clayborn of Mansfield, Danny Clayborn and Tommy
Clayborn, both of Clarksville, and Fred Clayborn of Russellville; one sister,
Billie Jo Enselen of Florida; three brothers, John Clayborn, Roy Clayborn,
and U. R. Clayborn, all of Indiana; 29 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren;
and four great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, at
the Rosetta Cemetery with Rev. Danny Knick officiating. Arrangements are
under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Louise Caudle Mobley, 80, of Russellville, wife of Richard Mobley, died
Monday, Jan. 28, 2002, at her home.
A native of Russellville, she was a daughter of the late Reece Arnold
and May Burgess Caudle, graduate of Arkansas Tech University and the University
of Arkansas at Fayetteville, and also studied at Middlebury College, McGill
University in Quebec, and the University of Paris-Sorbonne. She was a professor
of French at Arkansas Tech University for 22 years, member of the Arkansas
Tech Dames Club, the Daughters of the American Revolution, and All Saints
Episcopal Church where she sang in the choir and was active in the St.
Elizabeth's Guild.
Other survivors include one daughter, Margaret Burgess of Boulder, Colo.;
one son and daughter-in-law, Richard Reece and Nancy Rossiter Mobley of
Westwood, Mass.; one sister, Imo Campbell of North Little Rock; four grandchildren,
Ben of Boulder, Colo., and Ryan, Sarah and Elizabeth, all of Westwood,
Mass.; and two nieces, Carol Fisher and Louise Watkins.
A memorial service was held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at All Saints
Episcopal Church with Rev. Peggy Hays officiating. A private burial was
held under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.

Maxie Elizabeth Sykes, 56, of Broken Arrow, Okla., formerly of Clarksville,
died Monday, Feb. 4, 2002, at Maplewood Care Center in Broken Arrow, Okla.
She was a 1963 graduate of Clarksville High School, daughter of the
late Edward Cole, and an employee of Avis Car Rental.
Survivors include her husband, David A. Sykes; one daughter, Kimberly
Sykes of Broken Arrow, Okla.; one son, Mark A. Sykes of Broken Arrow, Okla.;
mother, Juanita Holman Cole of Broken Arrow, Okla.; and one sister, Dorothy
Cole of Broken Arrow, Okla.
Graveside services and burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, at
Holman Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

William H. Loedige, 96, of Lamar died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2002, at Mountain
View.
He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, World War I Army veteran,
former owner and operator of a dry cleaning business, son of the late William
H. and Rose Schlafke Loedige, and was preceded in death by his wife, Edna
S. Smith Loedige.
Survivors include one sister, Theresa Norcross of Lawrence, Kan.; one
brother, Frederick Loedige of Los Angeles, Calif.; and several nieces and
nephews.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, at Grace Lutheran Church in Clarksville
with Rev. Robert Herring officiating.
Burial was in the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery at Lutherville under the
direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

B. Yvonne Neblock, 59, of Russellville died Monday, Feb. 4, 2002, at
her home.
She was a former resident of Clarksville, native of Neelyville, Mo.,
and daughter of the late George T. and Hattie B. Williams.
She is survived by one son, Robin Neblock of Russellville; two daughters,
Joyce Weaver of Clarksville and Jody Blair of Russellville; eight grandchildren;
five great-grandchildren; one brother, Terry Williams of Rockford, Ill.;
three sisters, Mary King, Joan Blackburn, and Lois Winter, all of Rockford,
Ill.; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, at Humphrey Funeral Service
in Russellville with Rev. Vernon Long and Rev. Don Rose officiating. Burial
will be at Oaklawn Cemetery in Russellville.
