Billy Charles (Bill) Dickerson, 70, of Clarksville died Tuesday, June
5, 2001, at his home.
He was a native of Clarksville, son of the late James Wesley and Lillie
Boen Dickerson, graduate of Clarksville High School, member of the First
United Methodist Church, Navy veteran of the Korean War, cattle farmer,
and co-owner of OK Food Market for 43 years. He was a former member and
president of the Clarksville School Board and also served on the Clarksville
Housing Authority board of directors for 24 years where he was chairman
of the board for 13 years. He was preceded in death by two brothers, J.
R. Dickerson and N. E. Dickerson; and three sisters, Jean Dickerson, Anna
Moore, and Lottie Morgan.
Survivors include his widow, Peggy Dickerson; six children, Chuck Dickerson
of Dallas, Texas, Billy Dickerson of Clarksville, Jimmy Dickerson of Oklahoma
City, Okla., DeAnn Blackard and Dana Plugge, both of Clarksville, and Dinah
Dickerson of Fayetteville; two daughters-in-law, Marian Dickerson and Susan
Dickerson; two sons-in-law, Jeff Blackard and Charlie Plugge; stepmother,
Ila Dickerson of Clarksville; one brother, Jim Dickerson Jr. of Clarksville;
three sisters, Pearl Whitson of Clarksville, Bonnie Dickerson of Fort Smith,
and Monetta Hadley of Ponca City, Okla.; and 13 grandchildren, Michael
Dickerson, Chris Dickerson, Becca Dickerson, Greg Dickerson, Phillip Dickerson,
John David Dickerson, Melissa Dickerson, Sarah Dickerson, Jordan Plugge,
Wesley Plugge, Thomas Plugge, Abby Blackard, and Wyatt Blackard.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Friday, June 8, at the First United Methodist
Church in Clarksville with Rev. Lowell Eaton officiating.
Burial was in Woodland Cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral
Home.
Pallbearers were Michael Dickerson, Chris Dickerson, Greg Dickerson,
Phillip Dickerson, John David Dickerson, Wesley Plugge, Jimmy Dickerson
III, Turner Whiton, Steve Edmisten, and Herman Houston.

Rev. Billy D. Williams, 58, of Ozark, father of Hope Van Lauvan of Clarksville,
died Thursday, June 7, 2001, at his home.
He was a native of Biscoe, son of the late Harvey Allen Williams, and
a retired Pentecostal pastor of several area churches.
Survivors include his widow, Laurie Williams; two other daughters, Robbin
Archer of Cabot and Gwen English of Altus; one stepdaughter, Terri Pullen
of Ozark; two stepsons, David Pullen and Jonathan Pullen, both of Ozark;
mother, Joyce Marie Hughes Williams; two sisters, Brenda Huntsinger Stacy
of Ozark and Linda Flores of Waldron; one brother, Nick Williams of Ozark;
13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, June 11, at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel
with Rev. Arleta Sheffield and David Zeiler officiating. Burial was in
Highland Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Rev. Joe Lancaster, Rev. Jim McElhaney, Rev. Lonnie Sheppard, Rev. Carl Sory, Rev. Larry Willis, and Rev. Billy Paul Roberts.
George Raymond Fell, 70, died Friday, June 8, 2001.
A native of Lake Village, he was a son of the late George Fell and Margaret
Scucchi Fell, a graduate of Lake Village High School and The College of
the Ozarks, a scholarship athlete, and a former coach at Clarksville High
School. He was employed with Commercial Credit for 20 years in a managerial
position and retired from the Bank of America of Jacksonville after 20
years. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Open Door Sunday
School class, Jacksonville Rotary Club, Jackson-
ville Chamber of Commerce, Lions Club and Camden junior deputy softball
program.
Survivors include his widow, Edna Hunnicutt Fell; three daughters and
spouses, Linda and Barry Swain of Bamberg, Germany, and Mary and Rick Jenkins
and Julie and Gregg Curtis, all of Little Rock; one brother, Jesse Fell
of North Little Rock; sister-in-law and her husband, Jeanne (Hunnicutt)
and Travis Taylor of Jackson, Miss.; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, June 11, at Griffin Leggett Healey and
Roth in Little Rock.

Jackson Bailey Carmody Jr., 43, of Leander, Texas, died Sunday, June
3, 2001, from injuries sustained while participating in a championship
boat race on Corpus Christi Bay.
A native of South Bend, Ind., he was a former resident of Johnson County
and attended Hartman High School. After moving to Texas, he was instrumental
in various business ventures including Ranger Excavating, LP, Carlos &
Charlie's, M.C. Ruby, Inc., La Bandera Ranch in Carrizo Springs, and other
land development enterprises. He was active in numerous associations and
charities in the Austin area and also served as a director of The Star
of Texas Fair and Rodeo and of the Texas Wildlife Association. He was associated
with Children's Heart Hospital and with the Safari Club International and
was a sponsor of youth league sports in Leander and Cedar Park, Texas.
Survivors include his widow, Cheryl (Shari) Carmody; one daughter, Amanda
Carmody of Leander, Texas; one son, Chase Carmody of Leander, Texas; father,
Jack Carmody of Hartman; mother, Alvia Groskopf Carmody Yates of Clarksville;
and four brothers, Rob and Justin of Arkansas and Rusty and Chris of Texas.
A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 12, at Riverbend
Church in Austin, Texas, with Rev. Jim Black officiating.

Rozella Woodard, 77, of Clarksville died Sunday, June 10, 2001, at Johnson
Regional Medical Center.
She was a Baptist, daughter of the late John Chavers and Tamsey J. Atwell,
and widow of Charlie Woodard.
Survivors include one daughter, Lillie Wilson of Altus; one son, Charles
D. Woodard of Clarksville; two sisters, Lizzie Mefford of Lamar and Viola
Davis of Knoxville; three brothers, Walter Chavers of Clarksville, C. N.
Chavers of Springdale, and Robert Lee Chavers of Oklahoma; three grandchildren;
and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 13, at Roller-Cox Chapel with
Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Burial will be in Carter Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be John Jennings, Jody Storms, Glen Chavers, Junior Anglin, Bob Nichols, and Carl Collins.
