Bruce J. Bredensteiner, 51, of Clarksville died Tuesday, March 5, 2001,
in Fort Smith.
He was retired and affiliated with the Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his widow, Jennifer Matson Bredensteiner; one daughter,
Jodie Carrido of Ozark; one son and daughter-in-law, Robbie and Colleen
Bredensteiner of California; parents, James and Faye Bredensteiner of Farragut,
Iowa; grandmother, Doris Trullinger of Farragut, Iowa; and one sister and
brother-in-law, Janet and Jeff Owen of Iowa.
Funeral and burial will be in Farragut, Iowa. Local arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Carl E. Moore, 90, of Russellville, formerly of Clarksville, died Saturday,
March 3, 2001, at AMI St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville.
A native of Dover, he was a son of the late Edgar Jackson and Delva
Rushing Moore, a retired automobile salesman, and World War II U. S. Army
veteran having served in the Normandy Invasion where he was the recipient
of four overseas service bars along with the European-African-Middle Eastern
Service Medal with one Bronze Star. He was a longtime member of the Clarksville
Veterans of Foreign Wars Post and attended the North New Hope Assembly
of God Church.
Survivors include his widow, Laverne Patterson Moore; one son and daughter-in-law,
Robert H. and Betty Jo Moore of Russellville; one grandson, Robert R. Moore
of New York City, N. Y.; one niece and spouse, Lawanda and Luther Smith
of Wichita, Kan.; one nephew and spouse, John Ed and Nancy Moore of Wichita,
Kan.; one niece-in-law, Helen Moore of Dover; and three sisters-in-law,
Bertha Moore and Alene Moore, both of Wichita, Kan., and Janie Moore of
Russellville.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, March 5, at Shinn Funeral Service Chapel
with Rev. Mackey Yokem and Rev. Don Hankins officiating. Burial was in
Rushing Cemetery near Dover.
Pallbearers were Harold Humphrey, Joe Hottinger, Clefton Vaughan, Alan Johnson, A. G. Barton, Leroy Drittler and Leonard Elliott.
Eloise Marie Zentz Wine, 82, of Clarksville died Saturday, March 3,
2001, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a daughter of the late Hugh and Bessie Fugate Zentz, retired
Singer Company employee, Baptist, and was preceded in death by one sister,
Doris Jenkins; and one brother, Don Zentz.
Survivors include her husband, Emerson Dyer Wine; three daughters and
sons-in-law, Sharon and Jim Mitchell and Pat and Bob Cook, all of Ozone,
and Sandy and Gene Bridger of Elkhart, Ind.; ten grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren;
and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, at the Ozone Baptist Church
with Rev. Bob Herod and Rev. Richard Snyder officiating.
Burial was in Russell Cemetery at Ozone under the direction of Roller-Cox
Funeral Home.

Joe Lee Martin, 76, of Clarksville died Thursday, March 1, 2001, at
his home.
He was a native of Clarksville, son of the late Arris and Beulah Laugwitz
Martin, World War II Navy veteran, attended Clarksville Schools, and was
a 46-year employee of OK Food Market where he was produce manager at the
time of his retirement.
Survivors include his widow, Mildred Martin; one son and daughter-in-law,
Alan and Cindy Martin of Clarksville; two grandsons, Timothy Martin and
Matthew Martin, both of Clarksville; one sister, Pauline Turner of Sacramento,
Calif.; two nieces; and one nephew.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Monday, March 5, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel
with Mike Eppinette and John Ballard officiating. Burial was in Lone Pine
Cemetery.

Lester C. Cowell, 77, died Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2000, at the Veterans Hospital
in Denver, Colo.
A native of Lamar, he had resided in Fort Collins, Colo., the past 39
years, was a son of the late Virgil L. and Dora Belle Torix Cowell, World
War II veteran, military policeman No. 677 in the Philippines and was the
recipient of the Independence Ribbon and World War II Victory Metal. He
was preceded in death by three brothers, Bert Lee Cowell and Lindsey Cowell
of Lamar, and Leonard Baker of Dexter, Mo.
Survivors include his widow, Wanda Cowell; two sons, Charles L. Cowell
and Albert Cowell; two sisters, Florence Clayborn of Lamar and Arnola Collins
of Clarksville; one brother, William Leon Cowell of Loranger, La.; and
several nieces and nephews.
Funeral and burial were at the Fort Logan Military Cemetery in Denver, Colo.
Lona Lucille Stepp, 62, of Oark died Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2001, at her
home.
She was a member of the Church of Christ, daughter of the late Tom B.
and Goldie Marie Dickard Guess, and was preceded in death by two sisters,
Viola Foster and Irene Johnson; and two brothers, Leon and Clarence Guess.
Survivors include her husband, Roy C. Stepp; one daughter, Gail Ray
of Mena; three sons, Vernon Stepp, Bobby Stepp, and Jeffery Stepp, all
of Oark; two sisters, Florence Marie Miller of Marble and Florence Bell
Guess of Oklahoma; one brother, Charles Edmon Guess of Oklahoma; seven
grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 1, at the Salus Free Holiness
Church with Rev. Robert Boen officiating.
Burial was in the Buckhorn Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox

Opal Cowan Yarbrough Thomas, 78, of Wichita, Kan., died Sunday, March
4, 2001, in Wichita, Kan.
She was a daughter of the late Claude and Marvie Thomas Cowan and a
Pentecostal.
Survivors include her husband, James A. Thomas; one daughter, Mary Catherine
Yarbrough Comstock of Wichita, Kan.; four sons, Ancil Lee Yarbrough of
Wichita, Kan., Billie Ray Yarbrough of Rogers, Leroy Yarbrough of Oark,
and Gary Nolan Yarbrough of Clarksville; three sisters, Irma Lee Hill of
Oark, Juanita Hardin of Clarksville, and Corene Benn of Wichita, Kan.;
two brothers, Haskel Cowan of Clarksville and Virgel Cowan of Oark; 21
grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March 9, at Roller-Cox Chapel with
Rev. D. G. Daniels officiating. Burial will be in Sherman Cemetery.

Patricia Siegel Genochio, 76, of Santa Clara, Calif., died Tuesday,
Feb. 20, 2001, in Santa Clara, Calif.
She was a former resident of Clarksville, daughter of the late Dr. George
Reginal and Beatrice O'Shaughnessey Siegel, and a native of Wichita, Kan.
Survivors include her husband, Frank Genochio; three children, David,
Beni, and Mary Jane of California; and four great-grandchildren, Christi,
David, Robert and Joseph Genochio.
Memorial mass was at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, at St. Justin's Catholic Church at Santa Clara, Calif., under the direction of Lima Santa Clara Mortuary.
Roger Carroll Umholtz, 63, of Ozark, father of Mary Perriman of Lamar
and Billy Carroll Umholtz of Clarksville, died Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2001,
in Ozark.
He was a native of Berryville, son of the late Orie and Lottie Mary
Rolfe Umholtz, retired from the U. S. Air Force after having served from
1957-1977, retired employee of the Arkansas Highway Department after 13
years of service, and was recently a part-time maintenance employee of
Garan Manufacturing in Ozark.
Survivors include his widow, Armita Powell Umholtz; four other daughters,
Virginia DeWinter of Mishawaka, Ind., Elizabeth Gabel and Joye Brown, both
of Ozark, and Jenifer Finley of Lansing, Kan.; one other son, Jason Huggins
of Ozark; one sister, Mary Goodman of Royal; two brothers, Jerry Umholtz
of Ozark and Micky Umholtz of Overland Park, Kan.; 13 grandchildren; two
great-grandchildren; and mother-in-law, Lillie Powell of Ozark.

Samuel T. (Bill) Dewett, 87, of Ozark, grandfather of Richard Wood of
Clarksville, died Saturday, Feb. 24, 2001, at Ozark Nursing Home.
He was a son of the late Sam and Addie Tucker Dewett, a native of Ozark,
member of Webb City Baptist Church, retired employee of Arkansas Valley
Electric Cooperative, and was preceded in death by his wife, Era Keith
Dewett; and one sister, Lena Parker, formerly of Salinsas, Calif.
He is survived by one daughter, Phillis Minton of Fort Smith; one son,
Lewis Dewett of Springdale; one sister, Ruby Carlile of Ozark; two other
grandchildren, Liby Smith of Ozark and Lee Ann Looney of Columbia, Mo.;
and five great-grandchildren, Kyle and Kayla Eveld, Sydney Wood, and Cara
and Beca Looney.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27, at Webb City Baptist Church
with Rev. Jan Akins and Rev. Lewis Dewett officiating.
