Ambrose R. Johnson Jr., 74, of Delaware died Tuesday, June 13, 2000,
at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock.
A native of Delaware, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ambrose
R. (Louella Parsons) Johnson Sr., retired commercial fisherman and bus
driver for the Dardanelle Public Schools, and was preceded in death by
one brother, Tony Johnson; and three sisters, Joline Jackson, Edith Keith,
and Melba Goocher.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Louise Weaver Johnson; one daughter
and son-in-law, Donna and John Shelton of Scranton; one brother, Rev. Jim
Johnson of Gary, Ind.; three sisters, Lila Barnett of Delaware, Eva Stone
of Gary, Ind., and Mary Hux of Dallas, Texas; four grandsons, Larry Shelton
of Charleston, Richard Shelton of New Blaine, and Robert Shelton and Michael
Shelton of Scranton; and four great-grandchildren, Bryce Willems, William
Shelton and Olivia Shelton of Charleston and Allison Shelton of Scranton.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Friday, June 16, at the Delaware First Baptist
Church with Rev. Wiley Jones officiating.
Burial was at Graves Cemetery under the direction of Cornwell Funeral Service of Dardanelle.
Mrs. Margaret Ruth White Fry, 62, of Clarksville died Monday, June 12,
2000, at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn.
A daughter of the late John Thomas (J. T.) and Ruth Blackburn White,
she was a 1956 graduate of Clarksville High School, 1960 graduate of the
University of Arkansas, and held a master of education degree from the
University of New Mexico. She was a retired teacher of the Sandia Base
Elementary School in Albuquerque, N. M.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, choir member,
and pianist for the Men's Bible Class, member and officer of the First
United Methodist Women, past president of P.E.O., Beta Sigma Phi, and Kappa
Kappa Iota, lifetime member of the Johnson County Historial Society and
the Johnson Regional Medical Center Auxiliary, and a member of the Order
of Eastern Star and the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Survivors include her husband, Ray Fry; and one daughter, Barbara Ruth
Fry of Clarksville.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, June 19, at the First United Methodist
Church with Rev. Lowell Eaton, Rev. Aaron Barling and Rev. Frank Clemmons
officiating.
Burial was in Oakland Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral
Home.
Active pallbearers were Ronnie Ashlock, Robert Ed Farris, Bill Landrum,
Harold Lewis, Dr. Richard McDougal, Dr. Powell Smith, and Lee White.
Honorary pallbearers were the Men's Bible Class, Luther (Creepy) Hodge, United Methodist Women, and P.E.O. Chapter Q.
Mrs. Ruth L. Burnham, 63, of Fort Smith, daughter of C. C. Morgan of
Clarksville, died Saturday, June 17, 2000.
She was a member of Harvest Time Tabernacle where she was a home fellowship
leader.
Other survivors include her husband, Larry Burnham; one daughter, Susan
Dishner of Russellville; two sons, Steve Burnham of Bryant and Patrick
Burnham of Little Rock; two sisters, Carolyn Leisman of Maumelle and Rachel
Johnson of Clarksville; one brother, C. D. Morgan of Clarksville; and three
grandchildren, Rachel Dishner, Devin Dishner and Corbin Dishner of Russellville.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 20, at Harvest Time Tabernacle with
burial in Elizabeth Hall Cemetery at New Blaine. Arrangements were under
the direction of Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
Active pallbearers were nephews, James Lane, Mike Johnson, Doug Morgan,
David Morgan, Grant Johnson, and Eric Leisman.
Honorary pallbearers were members of the Sam Lowe Sunday School Class.

Tony Spahn, 85, of Hartman died Friday, June 16, 2000, at Johnson Regional
Medical Center.
A native of Lincoln, Neb., he was a son of the late Hubert and Nellie
Marie Bell, a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and a retired
coal miner and floor finisher.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Margaret Spahn; one daughter, Marilyn
Biggs of Springdale; two sons, Michael Spahn of Clarksville and Tony Spahn
of Greenwood; two stepdaughters, Cynthia Brasfield of Dardanelle and Jo
Ann Andrews of Lucedale, Miss.; one brother, Hubert Spahn Jr. of Fort Smith;
nine grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
Rosary was at 7 p.m. Monday, June 19, at Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 20, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with
Rev. William Wewers officiating. Burial was in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Richard (Dickie) Spahn, Jerry Spahn, Jimmy Sisk,
Alan Walker, Ronnie Stepp, and Caleb Chrisman.
Honorary pallbearers were Adam Chrisman, Donald Grigsby, Woody Rogers,
