Dominates Conference
Foes In Wins Over Mena,
Pottsville

The Clarksville Panthers continue to dominate conference opponents as
they added two more wins to their perfect record last week.
CHS defeated Pottsville on the road on Tuesday, Jan. 24, and Mena at
home on Friday, Jan. 27.
The Panthers are 10-0 in 4A-4 conference play and 18-5 overall. They
will play at Booneville on Friday.
Mena
The Panthers took a 79-41 win over the Mena Bearcats on Friday.
Clarksville led 17-7 at the end of the first quarter and pulled away by
20, 41-21, after two periods. They outscored Mena 21-13 in the third
quarter and 17-7 in the fourth for the win.
Kendrick Lee led in scoring with 23 points, including five
three-pointers. Dederick Lee finished with 21 points.
Zac Stumbaugh scored seven points in the win, Jerren Thompson and Deven
Simms each finished with six and Trey Norris and Oscar Walker added
four apiece.
Colin Bryan and Hadan Bartlett chipped in three points each and Nick
Bean finished with two points.
Thompson pulled down six rebounds to lead the Panthers on the boards,
while Stumbaugh grabbed five and Brandon Flint and Simms each pulled
down four.
Preston South, Dederick Lee and Walker had two boards each and Kendrick
Lee and Brandon McKinley each pulled down one.
Dederick Lee dished out seven assists, grabbed four steals and blocked
one shot. Kendrick Lee had two assists and a team-high five steals.
Thompson recorded three steals and one blocked shot and Simms and
Freddy Lee each grabbed three steals. South recorded two steals.
Norris dished out one assist and grabbed one steal, while Flint blocked
one shot and stole the ball once.
Bryan, Logan Johnston, and McKinley each dished out one assist and
Bartlett blocked one shot.
Pottsville
On Tuesday, the Panthers traveled to Pottsville and came home with a
79-51 victory.
They led 25-9 after the opening period and 42-23 by halftime. CHS
outscored the Apaches 27-19 in the third quarter and 10-9 in the fourth
for the 28-point win.
Dederick Lee scored 28 points to lead the Panthers, while Simms
finished with 17. Kendrick Lee also finished in double figures with 12
points.
South scored eight points, Norris contributed seven and Thompson
chipped in three. Bean and McKinley rounded out the scoring with two
points apiece.
Simms grabbed 11 rebounds, while Thompson and South pulled down four
each. Stumbaugh and Dederick Lee each grabbed two boards and Norris,
Flint and Bartlett recorded one rebound apiece.
Thompson finished with six assists and two blocked shots, while
Kendrick Lee grabbed four steals and dished out one assist.
Dederick Lee recorded four steals and two blocked shots and Stumbaugh
and Simms each had two steals. Stumbaugh also had one assist.
Norris blocked one shot and stole the ball once, while Flint blocked
one shot.
